Advocacy

Community Grants.  The Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky has the capacity to make funds available to nonprofit organizations working to develop and influence health policy to promote lasting change in the systems by which health care is provided.  One way the Foundation seeks to address these needs is through grants to community-based organizations that share the Foundation's mission.  With this RFP the Foundation has allocated a total of $110,000 to award Community Grants of up to $10,000 each for projects focused on environmental strategies for prevention of smoking and other substance abuse in Kentucky's youth.  For the purposes of this project, "youth" are considered persons 10 to 18 years of age.  Communities are encouraged to learn about, and build their local strategy upon evidence-based practices for prevention policy work.  Click here to view the Community Grants Cover Sheet.  Click here to view FAQ's regarding the RFP.  The deadline for receipt of proposals is September 10, 2010 (must be postmarked no later than this date).  Lead Program Staff:  Mary Jo Dike, MBA.
